Meniere’s disease is a chronic inner ear disorder that causes episodic attacks of vertigo, tinnitus, a feeling of ear fullness, and hearing loss.
Main Symptoms of Meniere’s Disease:
🔸 Severe spinning vertigo (lasting from minutes to several hours)
🔸 Tinnitus (ringing in the ear)
🔸 Feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear
🔸 Fluctuating hearing loss (usually affecting one ear first and often starting at lower frequencies)
What Causes It?
The exact cause of Meniere’s disease is not fully understood, but the accumulation of excess fluid in the inner ear (endolymph) is considered the primary factor.
Genetic predisposition, stress, allergies, and autoimmune disorders may also play a role.
