Tympanometry is one of the most important hearing tests, evaluating the condition of the middle ear and the mobility of the eardrum.
What Tympanometry Can Detect:
✅ Health and mobility of the eardrum
✅ Presence of fluid or infection in the middle ear
✅ Eardrum perforation
✅ Eustachian tube dysfunction
✅ Assisting in the diagnosis of otitis
How is it Performed?
A small device is placed in the ear and gently pumps air into the ear canal.
The eardrum moves in response to the pressure changes, and the device measures this movement to generate a tympanogram.
The entire test takes less than 2 minutes and requires no complex responses or active cooperation from the patient.
