Balance disorders are not limited to “dizziness” alone. Symptoms can vary widely and may sometimes be subtle or overlooked.
Common symptoms include:
🟣 A sensation of spinning or environmental movement (Vertigo)
🟣 Visual instability during movement (Oscillopsia)
🟣 Unsteadiness while walking
🟣 A feeling of head heaviness or reduced concentration
🟣 Nausea, particularly during movement
🟣 Marked sensitivity to motion or rotation
For accurate diagnosis of balance disorders, the following assessments are commonly utilized:
🟢 VNG
🟢 vHIT
🟢 VEMP (cVEMP / oVEMP)
🟢 Posturography
Depending on the underlying cause, treatment may include Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT), pharmacological management, or medical intervention.
